The culture is highly entrepreneurial and collaborative, and the successful applicant will gain a deep understanding of real estate at one of the premier developers and asset managers in the UK.

Client Details

My client delivers some of the most prestigious mixed-use developments in the capital and are currently looking to hire a Development Manager and Assistant DM to be involved in all stages of projects from Outline Appraisals, through RIBA design stages to Practical Completion and handover to the building and Asset Management teams. The company are involved in the full development process - from identifying and assembling sites, developing designs, and obtaining planning permission through to financing, project management of the construction process, letting and asset management.

  • Take ownership of substantial commercial plots working within outline design parameters, supported by and reporting to Senior Development Manager and Office Lead.
  • Work across multiple plots and workstreams with the wider internal commercial team.
  • Budget management and the commercial success of the plots rests with the DM, so a desire to take on project accountability and leadership is essential.
  • Day to day management of the overall plot design, procurement and construction programme will also be the responsibility of the DM.
  • Appoint, lead and coordinate the professional team, ensuring that a respectful, proactive and dynamic environment is established at all times
  • Work collaboratively with a delivery PM lead, ensuring that a healthy balance between value enhancement and cost saving is secured.
  • Take ownership of the business plan and financial direction of the project, reporting project progress against development appraisal objectives
  • Interfacing where appropriate with external equity and debt partners, the Local Authority, the JV board and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as the planning, marketing, estate management and legal departments.

Masters or RICS accredited degree desirable. The successful candidate (DM) will possess 2-3 years proven experience of successfully working on the design and delivery of substantial commercial buildings to programme and budget. Ideally has experience of delivering buildings within the context of a wider masterplan and expertise to work within a large project team in complex environments preferred. The assistant DM should demonstrate an understanding of the full building development project cycle.

Job Offer

Both roles offer a competitive salary dependent on experience, benefits package and bonus along with the opportunity to work on a project that is one of London's largest mixed-use, regeneration Estates.

If you are interested in applying for this opportunity and possess the requisite experience highlighted above, then please send your CV to Dan Kavanagh.
