We are looking for 4 Development Managers and 2 Project Managers across the Royal Docks and Strategic Projects and Property Development Teams, within the Housing and Land Directorate at GLA. The teams work collaborately, and operate as one development team.

This is an opportunity to contribute towards the delivery of some of London’s largest, most complex and interesting strategic development projects. The Greater London Authority is one of the biggest public sector landowners in London; the Mayor has ambitious plans for the delivery of new homes, economic development and regeneration on this land, facilitated by our partnerships with delivery partners.

Development Managers and Project Managers work across a varied portfolio of high-profile developments and regeneration projects, and will play an important role in making a difference and helping to deliver positive outcomes for Londoners.

Development Manager (x2) and Project Managers (x2) -Royal Docks Team

Connecting communities, welcoming new businesses and expanding global relationships, we’re breathing new life into the Royal Docks area. And, with a number of initiatives set to launch, we need more people to help us see them through. It’s an opportunity to work with leading developers and partners on the capital’s largest projects to deliver genuine mixed-use development for all Londoners. Together we’ll achieve more.

The Royal Docks is London’s only Enterprise Zone and is going through a process of considerable change and regeneration. Thousands of new homes are being constructed and millions of square feet of commercial space. Alongside this development is a programme of culture, economic development and community engagement.

These roles in the Royal Docks Team will be at the heart of shaping and influencing the development of some of the largest development sites in the area. Working with developers, stakeholders and the community on important projects for Newham and for London.

You will support work across the Royal Docks portfolio of projects including Silvertown Quays, Thameside West and Royal Albert Dock as well as public realm and highway improvements and the activation of the water of the Royal Docks. You will help support the area becoming a diverse, inclusive and successful regeneration story for Newham and London.

Development Manager x 2 -Strategic Projects and Property Team

These roles in the Strategic Projects and Property Team will support strategic development projects outside of the Royal Docks. This will include residential-led mixed-use development of on the Greenwich Peninsula, and Beam Park; industrial development at EastPlus; and a pipeline of innovative new development projects, which includes industrial intensification investment projects. The Strategic Projects and Property team is leading the way in the delivery, investment and thinking of London’s industrial future.

The Development Managers will support on these large scale development agreements, and support the identification of new business opportunities, working closely with GLA Group, our development partners and Local Authorities to help unlock challenging development sites and realise the Mayor’s priorities in the London Plan through significant investment capabilities. The Development Managers will support in implementing the Lord Kerslake independent housing review recommendations, which will include supporting the implementation of the Mayor’s manifesto commitment on City Hall developer.

This role will be based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
