We are looking for Strategic Senior Land Rights Project Surveyors to lead the delivery of land rights and acquisitions for new infrastructure projects.

We are at the heart of the energy transition and are a key contributor to achieving the UK's Net Zero target for carbon emissions, as a result we are working on numerous high profile ambitious projects - making this a very exciting time to join National Grid.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At National Grid we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace for everyone. So, if you’re excited about this role but your experience or qualifications don’t match the job description exactly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be the right person for our growing business in this role or another one.

  • Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions, course fees, books, exam fees and time off for study leave – so long as it’s relevant to your role.
  • Access to flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.

About Us

National Grid lies at the heart of a transforming energy system, supplying electricity, safely, reliably and efficiently to millions of customers and communities.

We are in the middle of a transformation; with the energy we use increasingly coming from cleaner greener sources. In 2019, for the first time since the industrial revolution, most of our electricity came from low carbon sources. National Grid is at the heart of that energy transformation – investing around £1.3bn each year to adapt and develop our transmission network to connect new sources of low carbon and green energy to our homes and businesses, whilst maintaining our existing electricity transmission assets.

We connect people to the energy they need to live their lives. We continually strive to find a better way. We Bring Energy to Life.

Through our energy transmission network, we connect millions safely and reliably to the energy they need. It’s this purpose that drives us forward. Join us and, together, we’ll work to build a more sustainable, better-connected future.

National Grid touches the lives of almost everyone in the UK, with an energy network that stretches across the Atlantic. We’re an international team, and our work underpins the lives of millions of people. Feet forwards, head up, and eyes bright, we’re working hard to create value for people today – and shape the future of energy tomorrow.

In the UK, we don’t generate or sell energy – we join the dots to get energy from A to B. From making a cup of tea in the morning, to keeping the lights on in hospitals, our electricity network puts power in the hands of people. Without it, the world as we know it would grind to a halt.

From apprentices to experienced professionals, engineers to asset analysts, we need people with the spark required to keep us ahead of the curve: energised people, serious about innovation and eager to shape a connected future that benefits customers, communities and our world.

Change is happening faster than ever. To succeed, we need to be as focused on the future as we are on today. That means having a bold vision for the future – but also staying true to the values that led us here today. Looking forwards, without losing sight of who we are.

Why work for us?

The world of energy is changing beyond recognition. Working at National Grid, you won’t just be touching the lives of almost everyone in the UK – you’ll be shaping the way we use and consume energy for generations to come. Whether you’re fresh out of university or a seasoned professional, a career at National Grid means a place at the forefront of technological evolution. It means thrilling potential, and access to industry-leading training and development. Because, as National Grid advances, our people will move forward too.
