Estates Project Manager - The Donkey Sanctuary (Flexible Working) £45,000

HAYS are delighted to be working exclusively with The Donkey Sanctuary, who are seeking to recruit an Estates Project manager, to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. Situated within Sidmouth, a stones throw away from the Jurassic Coast, The Donkey Sanctuary is encompassed by stunning landscapes and award winning beaches. Currently one of the largest equine charities in the world, they are continuously working hard to deliver their core mission; working for a world, where donkeys & mules live free from suffering. Their varied estate is compromised of large open spaces, barns, donkey hospitals, hospitality facilities, all of which are integral to its operation, meaning the projects you will undertake are within an environment, where no day is the same.

Your new role
As an Estates Project manager you will be an integral figurehead in ensuring the projects you deliver are done so with quality, budget, & time in mind. Utilising your previous experience as a Building Surveyor or Project Manager, you will spearhead the delivery of projects from initial design brief through to completion and post construction phase, adhering to 'best-practice', ensuring compliance with statutory and non-statutory standards, health & safety, codes of practice, planning process and building regulations. You will undertake condition surveys, on a diverse portfolio of buildings within the sanctuary, ensuring minimal disruptions to visitors and inhabitants alike. You will take a lead in preparing design briefs / business cases for any new builds, structures, and alterations to existing buildings within the estate. Managing both internal & external stakeholders, you will provide updates on projects, when appropriate, appoint and monitor external consultants' performances ensuring quality, and keeping within budget.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need experience working in the capacity of a Building Surveyor or Project Manager delivering projects from inception through to completion. You will have a degree or HNC/HND in a construction related course. You will be methodical in manner and be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Through your previous experience, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task a multitude of conflicting demands, effectively prioritising tasks, to the needs of the business.
