Land Manager

Hays Property and Surveying are seeking an experienced Land Manager to join a leading regional House Builder based in Hampshire.

The business are a well-known regional House Builder who holds a reputation for delivering high quality affordable homes across the South of England. Their Land Department are responsible for identifying and acquiring parcels of land suitable for future housing developments.

The department are now looking to appoint an experienced Land Manager to work closely with the Land Director and Managing Director to achieve key growth objectives. The role will be based full-time at their Hampshire offices, with time allocated for site visits and attending prospective new land opportunities.

Your new role
As the Land Manager, your role will be principally responsible of sourcing new land opportunities for the purpose of residential development. You will work closely with the Land Director to source prospective land sites that fit within the business's key criteria. The business operates under a broad spectrum of development sizes, ranging from 10 - 1000 new homes, spanning across central southern England.

Responsibilities may include -

• Identify prospective land opportunities for a range of residential developments
• Undertake initial site feasibility and development appraisal, promoting and presenting potential opportunities to the Land Director.
• Arrange and attend site viewings with landowners and third party agents
• Undertake research via online databases, local government websites and via a network of industry contacts
• Negotiate Head of Terms, legals and manage the purchase of sites up to completion phase
• Prepare reports and any relevant documentation related to ongoing land purchases

What you'll need to succeed

• Recent experience of working as a Land Buyer / Land Manager, ideally within a House Builder / Developer environment
• A proven track record of identifying and purchasing parcels of land for the purpose of residential development
• Preferably have strong local knowledge within the House Building industry
• Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
• Strong abilities in report writing and financial appraisal
