Job Details
THE ROLE
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join a good firm of PQS at Associate Cost Manager level in London SW1.
You will work on a range of projects to include hotels, residential and offices with projects in the UK and in the EU.
You will run your own projects of high value, supervise and mentor other QSs when required, be the key contact for clients, get involved in presentations and more.
This is a good role either for an MRICS qualified QS to step up to Associate level or for an Associate not happy with their current role and keen to join a smaller firm where there are better prospects.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and Project Management services across a range of sectors.
They work on projects in the UK and also in the EU.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be either a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager ready to step up to an Associate level role or be an Associate Cost Manager with another firm of construction consultants (PQS) and keen to join a firm where you have proper responsibility and prospects.
You will need to have good experience of working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.
You must be MRICS qualified with at least five years experience or more.
You must have worked as a QS on projects from feasibility through project delivery and handover.
Experience of feasibility studies, benchmarking, cash flow forecasting, cost estimating, cost planning, value engineering, contractor selection, dealing with tender documents, plus post contract cost control, change valuations, payment certification, cost reporting, final accounts etc. all essential.
You will need to be conversant with all pre and post contract duties.
You should have gained experience of supervising and mentoring other QSs.
You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents and to be the key contact with clients.
Salary is negotiable according to your level of experience but will be in the range of £70000 to £95000 per annum plus pension, RICS fees, discretionary bonus etc.
