Your new company
Our client, a large infrastructure organisation, are looking to add a number of experienced Senior Civil Engineers to their team due to an exciting new contract award. The contract award is for 5+ years, so this freelance assignment has the scope to be very long term (with the potential for a permanent role to those interested in this).

Your new role
Due to increased workload, our client are seeking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer. The successful candidate will undertake and oversee production of Civil design, leading a dedicated Civil design engineering team. In addition, they will manage the Civil and Structural elements of a complete project. As a Senior Engineer you will provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader on a variety of highways schemes whilst taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior designers.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum level 4 qualification in an appropriate subject - ideally Bachelor or Master degree
  • Developed experience and expertise within Highways/Civil engineering, probably gained in a Designer/Engineer role or equivalent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design processes and procedures relevant to the civil engineering discipline
  • An ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound Highways engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements
  • Experience in undertaking project related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
  • Experience in the application of technical governance procedures within a consulting engineering environment
  • You are happy to agree a programme of actions towards successful achievement of industry recognised qualifications, ie Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with a relevant body
  • Good commercial awareness and knowledge of budgets and programmes
