Chartered Quantity Surveyor

THE ROLE

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join a good firm of PQS at Senior Cost Manager level in CARDIFF.

You will work on the build and fit out of DATA CENTRES and previous experience of working on data centre projects is required by my client.

You will do pre and post contract work so a background of working on cost planning, cost estimating, tender documentation, benchmarking, value engineering and all post contract cost control is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious PQS as the data centre side of this firm is growing.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and Project Management services across a range of sectors.

They work on projects in the UK and also in the EU and further afield.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager.

It is essential for this role that you have already worked on the construction and fit out of data centres as a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager.

You will need to have good experience of working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.

You must be MRICS qualified with at least five years experience or more.

You must have worked as a QS on projects from feasibility through project delivery and handover.

Experience of feasibility studies, benchmarking, cash flow forecasting, cost estimating, cost planning, value engineering, contractor selection, dealing with tender documents, plus post contract cost control, change valuations, payment certification, cost reporting, final accounts etc. all essential.

You will need to be conversant with all pre and post contract duties.

You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents and to be the key contact with clients.

Salary is negotiable according to your level of experience but will be in the range of £55000 to £80000 per annum (depending on your level of experience) plus pension, RICS fees, discretionary bonus etc.
