HAYS are delighted to be working with a leading provider of infrastructure, and facilities maintenance, contracted to the MOD to source a Billable Works Manager, to join their highly proactive team on a permanent basis. Situated in RNAS Yeovilton it remains one of the busiest military airfields in the UK boasting a 1000-acre site with 4300 personnel on site.


Your new role
As a Billable Works Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing for the delivery of minor works in accordance with government regulatory and statutory undertakings, complying with all Health & Safety and Environmental standards and policies. You will be embedded in a diverse environment, including, but not limited to, assault courses, fire alarms, building fabrication, and general mechanical & engineering work, presenting an exciting variety of challenges. Working cohesively with the Built Estate Manager, you will provide weekly progress reports on billable work plans, advising on budgets, requirements, and project risks.

As part of your-day-to-day role, you will be monitor and manage the supply partners project teams, to ensure suitably qualified and experienced operatives are directed to relevant tasks and ensure that all operatives have the necessary tools, such as vehicles, equipment, and skills to perform required tasks.


What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful Billable Works Manager, you will ideally have an ONC or equivalent level qualification in a Building / Civil Engineering or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Experience working in this discipline without technical qualifications will also be considered.

The role commands a diverse skillset, and you will have prior experience / background 'on the tools' which will provide the foundation of knowledge required to oversee the multitude of billable works undertaken You will be an excellent communicator, and methodical in your approach as you will embrace the logistical challenges of working within a prestigious air base.
