Job summary

In close coordination with the Project Manager, PMO team, and Engineering team, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be accountable for supporting the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors in carrying out any quantity surveying duties, including assisting in agreeing with contracting partners on "agreed maximum prices," valuing variations, processing valuation payments, and agreeing final accounts.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A-Level or higher education
  • Experience in quantity surveying or a closely related field for at least two years
  • Ideally, be pursuing a degree in professional quantity surveying (desirable)
  • Experience of working within a project management setting
  • Be familiar with the NEC 3 type of contract (desirable)
  • Understanding the options available for commercial management of contracts
  • Good IT abilities, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programmes
  • Be meticulous and organised, paying close attention to every last detail.
  • Ability to simultaneously coordinate many projects
  • Be able to co-ordinate multiple projects at the same time
  • A willingness to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks
  • Understanding the options available for commercial management of contracts
