A bit about the role...

Working in a team with our Head of Structured Real Estate Finance and other Senior Portfolio Managers, you will play a critical role in managing a portfolio of Investment transactions for Homes England. These will be larger or more complex either by purpose (guarantee, development, infrastructure, equity), nature of client or deal structure with  portfolio size will vary based on complexity with between 5,10 investment transactions.

The role demands the provision of effective stewardship, managing risk and client relationships with loan/partnership documentation as the core relationship document.

You will be joining our small but experienced team who whilst being based all over the country, all share the common goals of adding value and making a real difference. We are dedicated to delivering a first-class customer service, resolving queries informally wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach to any issues. We believe in working in a collaborative way to foster good decision making and problem solving within their team.

This is a rare chance to shape the future in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose and there are some ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the partner relationships. Working with key stakeholders and a professional investment team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective management of key relationships to deliver housing starts and completions at scale.

A bit about you…

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders on large development schemes, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable supporting the business on complex funding structure issues, able to review and comment on facility documentation and have a good understanding of Risk processes.

You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level, with the ability to negotiate and persuade, and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team.

As an experienced investment professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

Who are we?

Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency, plays a central role in tackling the housing challenges the country now faces. We have the appetite, influence, expertise and resource to drive positive market change, and our mission is to ensure more homes are built in areas of greatest need, improve affordability and create a sustainable housing market.

Following the publication of the government’s Levelling Up White Paper, Homes England has also been tasked with a core role in spearheading regeneration, partnering with places to reduce economic disparity, empower local leaders and create equal opportunities across the country to ensure communities reach their full potential.

What we offer...

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as competitive salary and 33 days annual leave, we are totally committed to flexible working. We’ll support you, wherever possible, so that you don’t miss out on what truly matters to you.

If you do ever need a little bit of extra help we have a great employee assistance programme, financial well-being support and access to loads of great discounts with leading high street names.

Our range of network groups are also there to support you to truly be yourself at work and play a key role in helping shape our future.

If you are a member of a professional body we’ll pay for your membership and once you get your top of the range digital kit you’ll be good to go in one of our great offices.

Company

Homes England is the new national housing agency, recently launched to play a major role in fixing the housing market and enabling delivery of homes that our country needs.

Homes England brings together land, money, expertise, and planning & compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability.  We work locally in individual communities to help meet local priorities.

We invest mostly in building new homes, but also in creating employment floor space and other community facilities, in cities, towns and villages across the country. The homes we fund include affordable homes for rent and sale, and homes for rent or sale at market prices. Our investment helps build around half of all new homes built in England each year. It also helps increase local growth by creating jobs and supporting businesses.

We own public land, which we sell to house builders and others. This is one of the ways in which we overcome barriers to development and help increase the speed with which house builders can build new homes.

Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.

Homes England was launched by the Secretary of State on 11 January 2018. Homes England is the trading name of Homes and Communities Agency. To find out more about what we do please visit: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/homes-England.
