Senior Quantity Surveyor

Archer is currently working with a renowned independent construction consultancy to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for its growing Cambridge office.

The company has an impressive client base and experienced cost management team of around 45 surveyors across the business. Their work is varied across multiple project sectors and the Cambridge team are currently working on projects including a £100m science park, £50m mixed-use development, and multiple office refurb and fit-outs.

The Senior QS will take responsibility for their own portfolio of projects, which can be tailored to their prior experience. Duties will include:

• Preparing budget estimates/cost plans
• Preparing bills of quantities
• Preparing tender documents
• Tender evaluation and report
• Interim valuations
• Cost reports and final accounts including the evaluation of Contractor’s claims
• Effective variation control
• Reporting direct to clients including presentations
• Assist with mentoring and training of Surveyors

A competitive salary is on offer dependent on level of experience, plus car allowance, bonus, pension, private medical, life insurance and 25 days annual leave. The company has a structured CPD programme, hold regular company social events and early finish on a Friday.

Candidates for this role should be MRICS chartered, and ideally from a construction consultancy / PQS background. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be professional, self-motivated and able to work independently using own initiative.
