Regional Engagement Manager – North East (13 months fixed term maternity cover)
Starting salary: £41,321.18.
Location: Hybrid
Crown Estate Scotland has an exciting opportunity to join our team on a full-time fixed term basis as a Regional Engagement Manager.
This role represents Crown Estate Scotland at a regional level with an emphasis on the North East region (for example Grampian, Angus, Moray, Cairngorms, Tayside areas and including Glenlivet and Fochabers estates), supporting the Head of Partnerships to deliver an exciting range of projects in a way that builds the impact, trust and credibility of the organisation as a whole.

About the role
The successful candidate for this new role will work on an exciting range of activities including:
• Supporting the Head of Partnerships to identify, establish, build, and maintain positive, trusting business relationships with tenants, communities and wider stakeholders that reflect Crown Estate Scotland’s values and are relevant to those areas in which we operate.
• Coordinating and where appropriate leading engagement with regional / local actors including local authorities, enterprise agencies, community bodies, and business clusters.
• Understanding regional and local development strategies, identifying, and communicating internally relevant strategic and local opportunities for Crown Estate Scotland to add value as an enabler or through specific investment projects.
• Supporting colleagues in the delivery of local management projects and partnerships ensuring clarity on roles, expectations and responsibilities.
• Supporting local consultation for specific development projects, working closely with Crown Estate Scotland project managers and other partners.
• Supporting the Head of Partnerships and wider teams in exploring and developing very early stage investment project concepts to sufficient maturity for clear internal decision making and handover.
• Supporting delivery of relevant capital / revenue initiatives as required.
• Sharing information and contacts internally to ensure a joined-up approach to all we do, as well as providing management information.
• Taking opportunities to build Crown Estate Scotland’s reputation for delivery through productive partnerships, ensuring any stakeholder concerns are dealt with in a timely and professional way.
• Advising and supporting the Executive Team and Board on regional visits and engagement with local projects.
The contractual working location of this role is our Glenlivet office. However, we believe work is something you do, not a place you go to, and we are committed to supporting employees to work flexibly and in a way that suits their role and preferences.
The starting salary will be £41,321.18 with potential for future progression and annual cost of living rises. The maximum salary for this role is currently £49,440.67. The role also benefits from 25 days’ annual leave, increasing to 30 days after four years’ service, plus 11.5 of public / privilege days. Crown Estate Scotland operates a discretionary flexi-time scheme. This role offers participation in the Civil Service pension scheme. Contribution levels for the scheme are currently 5.45% employee contribution at the entry salary for this role whilst Crown Estate Scotland contribution levels are 27.1%.

About You
Candidates for this role should have:
• An undergraduate degree or equivalent in a subject relevant to Crown Estate Scotland’s business areas and/ or community development.
• Experience of working with communities, particularly those most relevant to the Scottish Crown Estate in the north/ eastern region such as rural land use, energy, built development, river salmon fishing, coastal or maritime.
• Experience of preparing or reviewing business plans.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with political acumen and awareness.
• Some knowledge of good governance and risk management processes.
• Broad knowledge and awareness covering a range of Crown Estate Scotland’s areas of business, as well as its statutory obligations.
• Experience and knowledge of commercial estate, property or marine management, ideally with emphasis or expertise in one or more of Crown Estate Scotland’s business sectors.
• Project management skills, with appropriate knowledge and experience of delivering projects in accordance with project management principles.
• Experience of working in collaborative project environments including both internal team members and external partners to deliver mutually successful outcomes.
• Awareness of terrestrial and/ or offshore planning, development, policy and legal contexts.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to identify key points on any issue and translate these into clear, succinct messages.
• An understanding of monitoring and evaluation.
• Numerate and competent user of Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent MS Office skills
