Required skills and experience:

We require candidates to be either AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS qualified.  You must also be an RICS Registered Valuer.

A minimum of 12 months recent experience in residential valuation and home survey work.

A passion for the role is essential. You must be highly motivated, and work to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Candidates must work well within a team, adhering to and demonstrating our company values in all their practices. 

Hold a full current driving licence and live within Merseyside, Manchester, Lancaster, or Cheshire East.

Good IT skills, including the use of email and Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel are required.

Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills in order to meet ever-changing needs of the profession and our clients.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to ensure information is conveyed clearly, and accurately. The ability to listen to and understand the needs of others is also very important. 

Must have an excellent claims record.

Surveyor and Valuer role responsibilities:

Be competent in providing valuations of residential property for a variety of purposes including purchase, Help to Buy, Probate, Right to Buy, Right to Acquire and Shared Ownership.

Be competent in providing home surveys on residential properties (Level 2). The provision of Level 3 surveys is also preferred.  

Successful candidates must provide professional and accurate advice to all clients whilst acting with honesty and integrity in all practices.  You must be independent in your approach to problem solving but appreciate their limitations and ask for support or input if required.

Complete a minimum number of inspections per week depending on the type of instruction.  We do not work to a fix “point system” as we give our surveyors sufficient time to do their work to a high standard however, typical work levels include one Level 2 and one valuation per day, or three – four valuations per day.

Ensure that all work is provided to a high standard in line with RICS Regulation and our internal audit requirements.

Keep up to date with all relevant guidance and professional practices and maintain necessary CPD requirements.
