Your new company
Hays is delighted to be working with a consultancy of Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers who deliver residential and mixed-use projects throughout the East and South East, East Midlands and Greater London. Due to continued growth our client has created an opportunity for an qualified Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager to work as an Senior or Associate Project Surveyor. The role will be based in Norwich.

Our client works across multiple sectors, including residential, commercial offices, industrial, infrastructure, education and leisure, and projects range in size from £50,000 to over £100m in value.

Your new role
As the new Senior or Associate Project Surveyor you will provide Project Management and Employer's Agent services on a range of exciting and innovative projects, you will be working with public and private sector clients across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial and education.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a number of schemes from inception to completion in order to achieve successful outcome for the project, as well as pre-set milestones and related fee invoicing levels. This will include responsibility for scheme delivery, achieving targets / KPIs, liaison with clients and invoicing. You will also have responsibility for mentoring one Trainee Project Surveyor.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you will ideally be MRICS / CIOB / APM qualified (or equivalent level of experience) and you will have experience with Procurement and contract administration, employer's agent work, JCT contracts and within the residential sector.

You will have strong verbal communication and diplomacy skills in a variety of situations and you will be able to quickly build new business relationships and develop potential opportunities. You will also hold a valid UK driving licence (many projects are rural and not accessible by public transport).

What you'll get in return
This is a full time position, with 37.5 working hours per week, the office hours are 9am - 5.30pm but there is flexibility on working patterns. You will receive a starting salary in the range £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience plus car allowance and your employer will contribute 9% of basic salary to your pension. You will receive 25 days of holiday per year plus bank holidays. In addition, statutory sick pay will be 'topped-up' to full salary for a period of 13 weeks in total in any period of 52 consecutive weeks.
