This role readily supports part time and flexible working.
You will be involved in a wide variety of surveying work; this will keep your days varied and interesting, enabling you to gain a wide breadth of knowledge and experience. Your work will focus on managing a diverse land portfolio as well as helping to deliver our national flood risk programme, overseeing various operational projects. You may also provide assistance to the acquisition and compensation programme for major capital works.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
Working in the Environment Agency will mean that the environment will be at the heart of everything you do. You will need some understanding of compensation and land acquisition, access and rights over land and estate management (including landlord and tenant). Ideally you will have some experience working in an operational environment delivering estates services.
A credible and enthusiastic communicator with good networking skills, you’ve no problem building strong relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders. You’re a motivated team player, able to think on your feet and prioritise your work effectively.
A full and valid driving licence is essential.

• a generous career average salary pension scheme (currently 19% contributions from us);
• holiday allowance linked to grade and length of service, rising from 25 days to 30 days per year, plus 8 statutory public and bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time employees);
• generous enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave schemes;
