A bit about the role...

Working in a team led by Bhups Gosal, our Head of Provider Management, the Provider Management team play a critical role in driving the delivery of the government’s £7.4bn Affordable Homes Programme and other Specialist Rough Sleeper Programmes. You will be joining our friendly and high performing team of 31 people, who are committed to making positive change in the provision of affordable housing through our excellent relationships with housing associations, local authorities, developers and other partners.

The role has a national remit and can be based from our Bristol, Coventry, Northstowe, Leeds,Guilford, Liverpool and Newcastle offices.

Our team is dedicated in delivering a first-class customer service, resolving complex delivery matters wherever possible by working in partnership with our providers and taking an innovative and creative approach. We believe in working in a collaborative and flexible way to foster good decision making and problem solving to unlock schemes and maximise the delivery and value for money of the affordable housing grants programme.

This is a rare chance to ensure the delivery of much-needed affordable housing across the country in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and teams across the Affordable Housing Grants directorate you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective delivery of affordable housing grant allocations to provide homes for people in need.

The role will support the delivery of a wide range of affordable and rough sleeper housing projects and is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to our affordable housing work.

A bit about you…

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our partners and other stakeholders you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable engaging directly with a range of partners, giving clear messages and be willing to challenge as well as support when necessary. You will be proficient in programme or project management and have good analysis and IT skills.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an Affordable Housing Grants team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

In addition to relevant experience, we’re looking for someone who is able to demonstrate they can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

Who are we?

We are the Government’s national housing agency. Our role is to accelerate the pace of house-building across the country, particularly in areas where there are the most serious affordability issues  meaning people are struggling to find homes.

We have the appetite, influence, expertise and resources to drive positive market change and meet the Government’s ambition to deliver 300,000 new homes a year. We are using our land, influence, funds and knowledge to increase the pace, scale and quality of new homes accelerating delivery in areas of greatest demand and helping create great places to live. Within the next few years, we will have invested over £27 billion across our programmes. To deliver against these aims we’re building a different kind of public service - join us to help make this happen.

We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications. We also encourage you to apply using the full application option as opposed to quick apply, this is especially important if you would like to indicate to us that you would like to be considered under the disability confident scheme.

If your application is shortlisted to interview we will require you to provide proof of your right to work in the UK at that stage.

Homes England are a geographically diverse community. We are all hybrid working at the moment spending some of our time working from home and some based at our offices which are spread across England. The wellbeing of our colleagues remains one of our top priorities.

Company

Homes England is the new national housing agency, recently launched to play a major role in fixing the housing market and enabling delivery of homes that our country needs.

Homes England brings together land, money, expertise, and planning & compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability.  We work locally in individual communities to help meet local priorities.

We invest mostly in building new homes, but also in creating employment floor space and other community facilities, in cities, towns and villages across the country. The homes we fund include affordable homes for rent and sale, and homes for rent or sale at market prices. Our investment helps build around half of all new homes built in England each year. It also helps increase local growth by creating jobs and supporting businesses.

We own public land, which we sell to house builders and others. This is one of the ways in which we overcome barriers to development and help increase the speed with which house builders can build new homes.

Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.

Homes England was launched by the Secretary of State on 11 January 2018. Homes England is the trading name of Homes and Communities Agency. To find out more about what we do please visit: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/homes-England.
