About the role
It's an exciting time to join the Estates directorate at DVLA as we transition from a long standing PFI contract and into a new model of direct management of service contracts. This role will be fundamental in leading the DVLA estate into a period of change which will have a significant positive impact on the Agency and its staff.
Through this transition and into the future, this diverse role is fundamental to providing the great customer experience Estates strives for. Communication and customer service will be key and the need to develop and maintain effective working relationships with new service providers, DVLA management and staff alike will be key to the success of this role.
The role operates as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring service delivery is set up efficiently and running smoothly across the whole estate, whilst looking for continuous improvements and efficiencies. From first impressions at reception to ensuring a well maintained, safe and sustainable portfolio of buildings, the aim of this position is to provide a great place to work and a welcoming environment for all users and visitors to the DVLA.
- Lead a team of workplace specialists who are responsible for estates contract management (hard and soft services) and project delivery across the DVLA.
- Co-ordinate and lead on operational activities required for the exit of the PFI contract, mobilisation and operation of new service contracts and procurement of future estates related contracts. Close teamwork will be required with all relevant partners including Commercial, Finance, Project Management and Estates colleagues.
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with DVLA colleagues, staff and service providers to deliver efficient estates services.
- Working with the Head of Health & Safety to ensure a fully compliant approach to all estates related activities and projects to maintain a fully compliant estate.
