A bit about the role...

Working in a team with the Head of Strategic Partnerships, the Senior Manager will play a critical role in managing the delivery of affordable housing by our strategic partners. You will be joining our highly skilled and experienced team, who are committed to making positive change in how affordable housing is delivered.

The Head of Strategic Partnerships is dedicated to delivering a first-class customer service, taking an innovative and creative approach to delivery issues. They value diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making and problem solving within their team.

This is a rare chance to shape the future of affordable housing delivery in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional affordable housing team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of delivery challenges and will have the opportunity to help increase affordable housing supply.

The role will support the design and delivery of strategic affordable housing delivery. There are some exciting projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to unlock affordable housing supply.

A bit about you…

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable supporting the Head of Strategic Partnerships with complex affordable housing issues, aiming to increase affordable housing supply. You will have experience in dealing with complex affordable housing delivery issues and managing large affordable housing delivery programmes.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an affordable housing team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

As an experienced affordable housing professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

As part of the job role there is an expectation that some travel may be needed to attend internal meetings and external meetings with partners.

Who are we?

We are the Government’s national housing agency. Our role is to accelerate the pace of house-building across the country, particularly in areas where there are the most serious affordability issues – meaning people are struggling to find homes.

We have the appetite, influence, expertise and resources to drive positive market change and meet the Government’s ambition to deliver 300,000 new homes a year. We are using our land, influence, funds and knowledge to increase the pace, scale and quality of new homes accelerating delivery in areas of greatest demand and helping create great places to live. Within the next few years, we will have invested over £27 billion across our programmes. To deliver against these aims we’re building a different kind of public service ,join us to help make this happen.

We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications. We also encourage you to apply using the full application option as opposed to quick apply, this is especially important if you would like to indicate to us that you would like to be considered under the disability confident scheme.

If your application is shortlisted to interview we will require you to provide proof of your right to work in the UK at that stage.

Homes England are a geographically diverse community. We are all hybrid working at the moment spending some of our time working from home and some based at our offices which are spread across England. The wellbeing of our colleagues remains one of our top priorities.

Company

Homes England is the new national housing agency, recently launched to play a major role in fixing the housing market and enabling delivery of homes that our country needs.

Homes England brings together land, money, expertise, and planning & compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability.  We work locally in individual communities to help meet local priorities.

We invest mostly in building new homes, but also in creating employment floor space and other community facilities, in cities, towns and villages across the country. The homes we fund include affordable homes for rent and sale, and homes for rent or sale at market prices. Our investment helps build around half of all new homes built in England each year. It also helps increase local growth by creating jobs and supporting businesses.

We own public land, which we sell to house builders and others. This is one of the ways in which we overcome barriers to development and help increase the speed with which house builders can build new homes.

Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.

Homes England was launched by the Secretary of State on 11 January 2018. Homes England is the trading name of Homes and Communities Agency. To find out more about what we do please visit: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/homes-England.
