Works Manager and Drawing Office

Location: Maidenhead, with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: circa £43500 per annum, depending upon skills and experience

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week

We are currently looking to add a new proactive, team member to the Estates Works Department, to manage the scheduling and oversee our Headstone & Panel production and Drawing Office Team. The role is pivotal to delivering and managing inspection and legibility criteria for the CWGC's headstones and memorials, as well as to deliver training in aspects of building conservation.

About this Role and You
In this exciting and newly created role you will be responsible for the headstone ordering process, scheduling, prioritisation, and verification of all headstone, plaque & panel layouts.

As our Works Manager Headstones and Drawing Office you are responsible for global Amendment tracker; making changes and additions to headstones and memorials, including overseeing and approving the addition of new panels or points of commemoration to our existing memorials and sites, including proposals to make changes to our memorials and sites.

You will also be the lead person, working with other members of the Estates Department, to provide guidance training and support for the CWGC's legibility and cleanliness criteria, as well as other conservation-based methods of working on historic structures. In addition, you will manage the Drawing Office Team, who are responsible for preparing CAD drawings.

You will be able to demonstrate

Experience and knowledge of building surveying, historic building conservation, with a degree or equivalent qualification, and have knowledge of methods and techniques for best practice, conservation, repair and maintenance of stonework.

Evidence of effective building pathology skills and appropriate conservation-based methodologies to effect repairs. You will have excellent stakeholder management with the ability to provide training, guidance and management of staff, external contractors and suppliers.

Experience working in a multi-cultural environment, and the ability to speak and read conversational French would be beneficial (our headstone production facility is based in France).
