We have an exciting opportunity within our Housing Property team.

At Fareham Borough Council we are serious about investing in our Housing Property team. As well as two brand new posts that we are recruiting to, because we are always looking to develop our employees, we also have this further existing post that we are looking to fill following a recent promotion.   

As a Property Surveyor (Planned Maintenance) we will want you to deliver a wide range of planned maintenance programmes of work, consisting of improvements, major repairs, compliance work and supplemented by a range of small to medium size projects for the Council’s housing portfolio.

Taking works from feasibility, investigation, onto development of a proposal through to delivery, hand over and finally to completion of the defects you will procure, coordinate and project manage the complete process.

As you will be working from either the Civic Offices or Council Depot you will benefit from working within a relatively small geographical area with the chance to get involved in many different and exciting projects.

About You

It is important that you have a building construction, building maintenance or project management background, preferably backed up with qualifications to Degree or at least HND level in Construction, Surveying or Building Management.  

As well as having a detailed knowledge of building trades, contract management and health and safety you will have some understanding of the planning process and procurement policies as well as a good understanding of specifications, bill of quantities, schedules of work/rates and architect’s drawings.

It is also vital that you have a customer orientated approach with good communication skills, the ability to work with tact and diplomacy but above all a sense of pride and determination to do a good job.
