Senior Property Surveyor (Planned Maintenance)

Fareham Borough Council
Fareham, Hampshire
£44,039 - £48,733
Closing date
12 Feb 2023

Do you think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the future of this dynamic borough? We have an exciting opportunity within our Housing Property team.

At Fareham Borough Council we are serious about investing in our Housing Property team and this is one of two brand new posts that we are recruiting to. We are always looking to develop our employees and as a consequence we also have a further existing post that we are looking to fill following a recent promotion.

We will want our new Senior Property Surveyor (Planned Maintenance) to lead a small team of surveyors to deliver planned maintenance programmes and improvement works to Council Homes and leasehold properties taking works from feasibility and investigation, right through to delivery.

As you will be working from either the Civic Offices or the Council Depot you will benefit from working within a fairly small geographical area with the prospect to get involved in many different and exciting projects.

About You

It is important that you have an extensive building construction, building maintenance or project management background with experience in the public sector backed up with qualifications to Degree or HND level in Construction, Surveying or Building Management. As you will be managing a small team of surveyors, line management experience would be an advantage.

As well as having a detailed knowledge of building trades, contract management, procurement and health and safety you will have a customer orientated approach with good communication skills and the ability to work with tact and diplomacy.

About Us

Fareham Borough Council is a great place to work. The low staff turnover and high number of employees that have worked here for 20 years or more is testament to this, and you would be joining an organisation that has a real family feel to it.

We take pride in receiving feedback from others who say we are a friendly and professional organisation.

We aim to attract, develop and retain the very best people to carry out the work required. In return, you would be joining a well-managed Council. We offer a great pension scheme, authorised parking, flexible working and a car lease scheme to name a few of the benefits of working for us.

Please email Shaun Barnett (Property Manager - Housing) if you have any questions regarding the roles.
