We are working with a longstanding excellent provider of education, to source a highly experienced and motivated Head of Estates & Operations to lead the Facilities and Estates team, in unique and challenging role. Based in the heart of rural Wiltshire, located near the historic market town of Devizes, close to Bath & Salisbury, this is an exciting opportunity to develop the strategy, and create an outstanding teaching and leaning environment for students and staff strengthening their wider communities.


Your new role
In this highly challenging and multi-faceted role, you be responsible for managing and maintaining a diverse portfolio of properties within the estate, as well as day-to-day operations, ensuring that facilities are kept in optimal condition and everyday activities run smoothly. You will spearhead the delivery of capital projects, utilising your own internal team, engaging the appropriate consultants and when necessary, taking a lead on tendering contracts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the management and maintenance of properties adhering to compliance procedures, laws and regulations
• Managing the day-to-day operations of the properties, including repairs, maintenance
• Overseeing the financial performance of the properties, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to the Bursar and School Governors
• Leading and mentoring your team and wider reports - (Head of IT, Chef Manager, Sports Centre Manager, Transport Manager and Reprographics Manager)
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have:

• Professional qualification within the Building / Property industry
• HNC / HND / Degree within a Construction / Property related discipline
• An APM / PRINCE2 qualification
• A track record of leading a large and multi-faceted team
• Proven experience in a senior property management role
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong financial and budgeting skills
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
• Experience in the derivatives and operations field is an advantage
