Seeking a Commercial Agency Surveyor to join Myddelton & Major in Salisbury. Myddelton & Major are an independent and RICS regulated firm of Chartered Surveyors, who hold an established reputation across the South and South West of England.

Founded in 1903, we now operate from offices in Salisbury, Andover, Westbury and Stockbridge, providing advice on sales, lettings and acquisitions of both residential and commercial property to a range of clientele.

As part of our ambitious growth and succession plans, we are now looking to appoint an additional Commercial Agency Surveyor to join, our Commercial Agency department in based in Salisbury.

The Role
Our award winning Commercial Agency department provide a full range transaction related services and hold a strong reputation and significant market share across the region. We work on behalf of a range of landlords and occupiers including; private clients, investors, developers, retailers, commercial operators, institutions and national investment funds. Across our offices we deal with in a variety of key property sectors such as, business space, high street retail, development and investment.

As a Commercial Agency Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing, overseeing and negotiating on a range of commercial property transactions, whilst trying to get the best deal for our clients. As you become familiar with your market, you will contribute to the future success of Commercial Agency department and wider business.

Although this role is open to candidates at a variety of levels, it is a key appointment within our succession plan.
You will be encouraged to develop professionally, supported by the Partners to progress within the business.

Specific responsibilities may include, but not limited to;

  • Letting, leasing, acquiring and selling commercial property.
  • Negotiating and agreeing Heads of Terms.
  • Undertaking and preparing property marketing and conducting property viewings.
  • Establish and develop a network of contacts for prospective instructions.
  • Liaise and build relationships with clients, property agents, solicitors, and other external parties.
  • Identify and follow up on leads and enquiries to generate new business opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed within the role, you will be a commercially minded and driven professional. You will need to be ambitious, well organisation and have the passion and desire work within a leading regional property business.

Specific requirements include;

  • Ideally be a commercial property professional (Graduate to Associate will be considered)
  • Hold a relevant degree in commercial property or equivalent
  • Experience of negotiating commercial property related transactions.
  • Ideally have knowledge of the regional commercial property market.
  • Strong levels of commercial acumen, self-drive and sales ability.
  • MRICS – desirable at senior levels, but not essential
