Senior Development Manager

The Role:

Working for a local authority boasting some of the capital’s most prestigious historical and modern properties, one whom prides itself on a demonstrable record of promoting transparency, equality and putting residents first. You will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of large scale residential development projects on behalf of the Council.  

They have a significant regeneration and development programme that will see significant investment in the borough over the next few years and deliver much needed new additional affordable housing.  They are seeking experienced project and development managers that are able to integrate into their team and assist with the successful delivery of projects, manage external professional consultants and deliver effective stakeholder management. 

You will lead and project manage on the complete project development cycle from concept to occupation. Lead specialists internally and externally to ensure forecasts, programmes, costs, design and quality standards and timescales are met. Assess and oversee all risks including health and safety are appropriately controlled in a timely manner and Council obligations and targets achieved.

About You:

A relevant professional qualification in property, regeneration and / or development or a related field or equivalent experience in the workplace relating to this role. 

Experience of clienting and leading the delivery of major development projects .

Proven track record at a senior level in the development industry, with relevant experience gained and a proven track record of leading and transacting complex deal structures Experience of leading large regeneration schemes.

Experience of leading public procurements.

Ability to pro-actively build relationships in dealing with key stakeholders.

Experience of coordinating large and complicated development projects and associated workstreams.

Experience and an understanding of the workings of local government and the processes contained therein.

Experience of working in a political organisation and building effective relationships with elected members.

Experience of managing excellent, cost-effective service delivery.

Experience of managing large development budgets.

Proven strong leadership abilities.

Proven track record of the ability to assess risk and delivery of projects within a risk framework, whilst not being risk averse.

£500 - £600 Per Day (Umbrella)

Looking forward, they are transitioning towards recruiting a strong permanent team. This role carries the opportunity for the right candidate to move onto a permanent role if they wish. They will also expect you to play a key role in recruiting to Development Management posts at different levels in their structure to strengthen the team.
