About us

The City of London Corporation is the city of opportunities, ideas and diversity. We’re an organisation that makes a contribution totally out of scale with our size. You could see your efforts not just make life better for people in London but across the country and even overseas. We’re the organisation that will surprise you.

The role

You will be responsible for the delivery of major construction projects within our Property Projects Group. It’s an opportunity to help transform the City of London for the better, enriching the lives of everyone who lives and works here.

It’s a challenging and wide-ranging role in which you’ll monitor our construction programme of works as well as manage other construction-related workstreams.

You’ll influence everything from project controls to programme structure and delivery methodologies. You’ll also help translate our corporate plan outcomes into delivery objectives and create effective change management processes.

Stakeholder management is also a key aspect of the role, as is engaging with assurance reviews and reporting on programme progress. In addition, you’ll be instrumental in developing project management as a core divisional and departmental skillset.

About you

We’re looking for people with extensive programme and portfolio management experience. This includes advanced stakeholder management, budget control, contract procurement and high-level project management.

On a personal level, you’ll be a proven leader who can deal with all kinds of people, motivate teams and negotiate the best outcomes for your projects. With excellent communication skills, you’ll also be able to present a variety of reports to stakeholders and committees. A relevant degree and chartered membership of a recognised professional body e.g. RICS, or CIOB is essential.

In return, you can look forward to a competitive salary plus excellent benefits including the local government pension scheme, interest-free annual season ticket loans, hybrid working arrangements, our private staff sports club, retail and leisure discounts and free entry to selected galleries.
