We are making exciting changes here at Test Valley and looking for outstanding candidates for Senior roles in Valuation & Estates to play their part

Interested in a new adventure? How about coming to join us in Test Valley, a truly beautiful part of Hampshire, and working for a financially stable council. The Council highly values its multi-million pound property portfolio as it is essential for the development of a thriving local area and providing the base for the Council to deliver on projects to improve the lives of residents and businesses.  These two roles are critical to maximising the value (both financial and social) for both the local area and the Council and come at an exciting time when we have big ambitions to take forward the regeneration of our two main town centres of Andover and Romsey.

These roles offer an extremely wide variety of work for ambitious professionals who enjoy interesting and challenging asset based cases in the areas of commercial, land and community assets.  You will have the opportunity to be involved in large property transactions, improving income as well as working collaboratively with our commercial partner in developing one of our local business parks. Our property portfolio is vast and with a rent roll of £9m per annum covers retail, leisure and industrial properties across the Borough including 400 acres of industrial land with a mix of fully rented and ground rented property, the Chantry Shopping Centre, a drive-through restaurant and a multi-screen cinema.

We are looking for candidates with a recognised property-related qualification, to degree level or else with demonstrable extensive relevant experience.  You will be relied on for your professional advice providing valuation and estates management expertise to the Council, including work on annual capital and insurance valuations, a wide range of casework including lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals and assignments. You will work closely with our Client Departments including Communities & Leisure and with Regeneration supporting the Councils plans for our town centre regeneration including option appraisals and development proposals.

We are a friendly council which values inclusive thinking and ways of working and encourage applications from people from all diversity groups and backgrounds.  We can offer you a supportive work environment with agile and flexible working hours, great opportunities for development and an excellent range of benefits.  This includes up to 2 flexi-days leave per month, generous annual leave allowance, free car parking on site, payment of your professional fees, staff restaurant, subsidised leisure facilities and membership of the local government pension scheme.

For more information on these exciting opportunities visit our microsite  and call Brian Gallagher from Penna on 07716 098175.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis so you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Closing Date: Monday 10th April 2023.
