Keele University is looking for an ambitious individual to join the established and successful Capital Projects Team within the University’s Estate and Campus Services Directorate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for workmanship & quality for construction works carried out for Keele University. Working with professional construction consultants as well as colleagues in the Capital Projects team, the successful candidate will be carrying out site inspections & surveys across a wide range of construction works from new buildings to refurbishment with values from from £10k to £60m. They will be able to offer their professional advice & experience on buildability & construction site organisation to developing projects as well as the opportunity to directly manage the end to end delivery of smaller capital works.

The successful candidate will come from a clerk of works position or another site supervision, site inspection role in the construction industry. They will be qualified in relevant construction discipline or have sufficient relevant construction experience or have a construction related professional accreditation (e.g. ICWCI, RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, etc…). They will have excellent knowledge of construction techniques (both modern & traditional) together with excellent knowledge of health & safety. They will be highly organised, able to balance multiple ingoing projects, be skilled in dealing with consultants & managing contractors. Experience in higher education is desirable but not essential.
