A bit about the role...

Working in the South Acquisition Team with our Hiring Manager, Jeremy Herring, Senior Acquisition and Partnering Manager, and the other Team Members, the Acquisitions Analyst will play a critical role in identifying and securing the purchase of residential and mixed use development sites. You will be joining our small, friendly and experienced team, who are committed to making positive change in unlocking stalled residential development sites that the market is struggling to deliver or that are already in public ownership.

The South Acquisitions Team believes in delivering a first-class customer service, taking an innovative and creative approach to sourcing and securing residential development land. The South Acquisitions Team believes in working in a collaborative way and values diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making and problem solving within their team.

This is a rare chance to shape the future acquisition pipeline in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a wide range of professional colleagues across Acquisition and other teams you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective identification of acquisition sites and have the opportunity to help develop the business plans to secure the sites and unlock their delivery.

The role will work in the identification and delivery of key strategic projects around the south in support of Homes England’s objectives. There are some exciting projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the role of Acquisitions Analyst.

A bit about you…

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders in acquiring sites, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

Educated to degree level in a related subject or equivalent qualification with relevant experience within the property development industry, you'll be comfortable supporting the acquisition team in liaising with partners and reviewing data sources to identify stalled residential sites with complex issues. You will have good IT skills including Microsoft Office 360 and be proficient in data management tools such as excel.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will possess excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills and be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an acquisition team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

You’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

Company

Homes England is the new national housing agency, recently launched to play a major role in fixing the housing market and enabling delivery of homes that our country needs.

Homes England brings together land, money, expertise, and planning & compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability.  We work locally in individual communities to help meet local priorities.

We invest mostly in building new homes, but also in creating employment floor space and other community facilities, in cities, towns and villages across the country. The homes we fund include affordable homes for rent and sale, and homes for rent or sale at market prices. Our investment helps build around half of all new homes built in England each year. It also helps increase local growth by creating jobs and supporting businesses.

We own public land, which we sell to house builders and others. This is one of the ways in which we overcome barriers to development and help increase the speed with which house builders can build new homes.

Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.

Homes England was launched by the Secretary of State on 11 January 2018. Homes England is the trading name of Homes and Communities Agency. To find out more about what we do please visit: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/homes-England.
