This Surrey based Local Authority are currently in need of a surveyor proficient in the valuation, acquisition, and disposal of residential assets to survey, assess and facilitate the acquisition or disposal of housing land or property as directed and in line with the Councils' legal and statutory procedures. Work will include the review, management and execution of leases and way leaves in liaison with our legal services.  
 
If successful in securing this role you will be responsible for the following:
 
·Assessment of housing property considered surplus and requiring disposal - producing reports for approval in line with Council procedure to expedite the disposal of property through approved governance and legal routes.

·Assessment of housing property for acquisition - carrying out surveys and reports to support and obtain approval in line with Council procedure and legal compliance.

·Lease negotiation and property management of housing land and buildings property portfolio

·Undertaking asset valuations of land and buildings across the housing portfolio including the re-valuation of all assets on a 5-year cyclical basis

·Acquisition and disposal of housing land and property assets including assisting in the transfer of assets where appropriate.

·Assisting with the maintenance of the Council's Housing Asset data records - managing land and property information on the Asset Management system
 
To secure this role you will need to demonstrate the following qualification and experience upon application and at interview stage:

·Extensive knowledge of building and land valuation relating to the acquisition and disposal of property
 
·Extensive building construction knowledge
 
·Experience in general practice/land agency division of the surveying profession
 
·Full understanding of the legal processes relating to the acquisition & disposal of property
 
·Experience of using computerised asset management systems
 
·RICS - full membership
