An exciting opportunity exists for a Quantity Surveyor to join our rapidly expanding business!

Job Purpose/Background:

Qualified Quantity Surveyor with a background within construction contracts, refurbishment or void contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A practical problem-solving approach
  • Authoritative but understanding communication skills to enable effective engagement with both client and design teams
  • An understanding of bespoke residential projects
  • You should be comfortable working individually or as part of a wider team.
  • Ability to work in a professional environment and manage your own workload
  • Experience working with clients of this nature is beneficial but not essential
  • Producing indicative construction costs at key stages within the design process.
  • Helping with the production of Tender Information
  • Producing Tender Reports
  • Carrying out Valuations of projects on site
  • Working collaboratively alongside Architects throughout the Contract Administration period

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
  • Previous experience of construction/retrofit or fabric upgrades are preferred however not essential
  • Previous experience of working with bill of quants, schedules of rates, design and build contracts etc.
  • Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
  • Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting
  • Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative
  • Experienced with direct and subcontract labour
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel

  • QS: 3 years (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Higher Education (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)

Salary will be based on experience.
