Land Agent
Beach Baker are delighted to be working in partnership with The Brett Group to recruit a Land Agent in the South East region.
The role is to ensure that their portfolio of land - 3,500 acres throughout the South East of England - is managed to the highest standard.
The Company
Founded in 1909, Brett is the UK's largest independently owned construction and building materials group, employing over 700 people, with over 60 operational sites supplying materials throughout the South East.
They have a further 20 non-operational rural holdings extending to over 2,500 acres, mostly let for agriculture, grazing, fishing or recreational use, and some with environmental designation including Sites of Scientific Interest.
The Position
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Managing lettings on the rural estate and maintaining good relationships with agricultural tenants, graziers and fishery licensees in respect of their land use.
- Managing general rural estate maintenance requirements.
- Working closely with Brett's quarry managers on land management related matters and quarry restoration best practice, with the opportunity to develop award winning restoration schemes
This role has a wide variety of work, much of it out on site.
The Candidate
You will have a background in Agricultural/Rural/Land Management with at least two years' experience.
Excellent communication skills are essential as Brett have many stakeholders including the general public, land owners and tenants.
A sound financial understanding and the ability to manage and control expenditure is essential when employing and managing contractors and consultants.

Competitive salary depending on experience with a generous car allowance and excellent pension.
