This is a hybrid role which enables the post holder to work flexibly between home and on site within the police estate.

This starts at £43,254 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £47,496 per annum

Devon and Cornwall Police have a varied and interesting estate comprising of over 150 properties which include a mix of freehold and leasehold.

Following the retirement of our existing postholder we are seeking an experienced General Practice Chartered Surveyor to join our Building and Estate team, to manage our property portfolio across the force area – Devon, Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly.

The role will principally involve Landlord and Tenant duties such as rent reviews and lease renewals, along with acquisitions and disposals. Duties will include responsibility for managing the police’s leasehold rental income and expenditure. The post holder will also be responsible for managing NNDR expenditure and ensuring that the department’s terrier information is accurate and up to date.  The role will involve working closely with accounts colleagues, senior police officers and other members of Police and OPCC staff.

The successful candidate will possess extensive post qualification estates management experience.  RICS qualification is essential.  Experience in dealing with leasehold dilapidations would be a desirable attribute. Additional experience involving building surveying, construction supervision and auto-cad skills would also be welcome.
