Peace Recruitment is recruiting Assistant Project Managers in Glasgow or Edinburgh with circa 1-4 years’ experience, this role is for a privately owned construction consultancy specialising in providing comprehensive project management and cost management services to private sector clients in the construction industry, in Scotland and North of England.  

With a strong reputation for delivering successful projects, they work closely client-side. As an SME, they offer a collaborative and dynamic work environment where individuals can make a significant impact and grow their careers.

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join their team and assist in the successful delivery of 2 new construction projects. In this role, you will work closely with the Project Manager lead and provide support in various project management activities from inception to completion. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and sectors, gaining valuable experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project documentation, including contracts, permits, and reports.
  • Coordinate and track project deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Support the procurement process by obtaining quotes, reviewing vendor proposals, and coordinating supplier activities.
  • Assist in the management of project risks, including identifying and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including documentation of meetings, correspondence, and project changes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to construction project management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally in a project management role.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.

In return:

  • Salary £30,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
