Director - Building Surveyor

Peace Recruitments close client, a bespoke PM/BS consultancy are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director Commercial Building Surveyor to join their reputable and rapidly expanding team in Glasgow.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and manage our commercial building surveying department, overseeing a range of projects and playing a pivotal role in the growth and success of an organisation.

Our client is an independent consultancy with an excellent reputation, zero turnover of staff, a very strong pipeline of work for the next 3 years, hybrid/flexible working and a great culture.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the commercial building surveying department.

• Expect to work on a mix of Dilapidations, Project Work, TDD and Business Development.

• Manage a team of surveyors and support staff, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
• Undertake a variety of commercial building surveying duties including property inspections, condition assessments, feasibility studies, dilapidations, and contract administration.
• Prepare accurate and detailed reports, valuations, and schedules of condition.
• Provide expert advice to clients on property-related matters and ensure client satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, promoting repeat business and generating new opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Assist in business development activities, including preparing bids and proposals.

Requirements:

• MRICS accreditation is essential.
• Proven experience as a Commercial Building Surveyor, withi a consultancy background, including experience in a leadership or management role.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial building surveying practices, regulations, and standards.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Previous experience working with high end commercial private sector clients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships effectively.
• Proficient in using relevant surveying software and technology.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong commitment to professional development.
