Rural Estate Manager - Client-side opportunity in Gloucestershire

£60,000 - £70,000

The Company

The Estate is a 3,000 acre mixed farming estate with a large residential and commercial property portfolio, including off-estate commercial property investments and a rapidly expanding events enterprise. The estate is heated carbon neutrally through a large biomass district heating scheme. 850 acres of predominantly broadleaf forestry are managed by the in-house forestry team and provide timber for the biomass system, with larger felling outsourced to contractors. The garden is open to the public with adjacent café, pop-up restaurant, shop and workshop space. The farm is managed under a CFA with regenerative principles as a core management ambition with 1,200 acres of arable under a 7-year rotation including the integration 1,300 Romney X ewes.

The Role

You will be responsible for driving forward the strategic direction and long-term planning of the estate, combined with overseeing its day-to-day running. You will be confident in a leadership role, with strong residential property experience, a keen eye for detail and a positive, can-do attitude. You will work closely with the Estate Owner, providing regular updates and working collaboratively on strategic projects.

  • Accounts and budgeting
  • Land Management

The long term opportunity

The estate is developing rapidly to meet current challenges and opportunities in order to safeguard the integrity of the estate for the long-term. The Estate Manager will be expected to help grow the business, developing new income streams and continue to drive the events enterprise. Although a traditional estate at heart, it is run as a business and strong financial rigour is expected by the trustees. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced individual to manage and grow an extremely diverse and evolving estate.
