We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual for the position of Principal Surveyor within the Corporate Property and Land Service.

With a large, varied estate spread throughout the County and ambitious regeneration schemes underway, now is an exciting time to join us and be part of this delivery.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will support the day to day management of the Council's land and building estate, including rationalisation schemes, working closely with other public and private sector partners and delivery of large-scale regeneration projects across the County.

As part of the team responsible for Land Management, you will be required to undertake a diverse range of casework including rural estate management, negotiating access and rights over land, acquisitions and disposals. You will also have management responsibility for other surveyors carrying out casework within the Land Management Team.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
You will hold a RICS membership (or equivalent body), and have experience in undertaking property acquisitions, disposals and valuations. Please review the person specification for further criteria.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
