Peace Recruitment is working exclusively with a client-side organisation on the Central Belt of Scotland, they are expanding their team and looking for experienced Project Managers with 5 - 10 years’ experience in a consultancy environment. 

You can expect to work on a wide range of high profile, large complex projects from £20m to £120m spanning multiple sectors; Education, Healthcare and Leisure.

We are interested in speaking with Project Managers that cover the following:

  • Excellent communicator - The Project Manager must have the skills to be able to communicate with people at all levels.  The Project Manager must be able to recognise the need to adapt their style in different circumstances.
  • Organised - The Project Manager must be able to effectively manage the flow of information.
  • Ability to multi-task - The Project Manager must be able to manage multiple facets of the project at one time and may be required to undertake this across several projects
  • Efficient - The Project Manager must be able to prioritise tasks across the projects as well as be able to see the wider picture.  The Project Manager must have the ability to focus on the overall objectives of the project.
  • Eye for detail - The Project Manager must be able to focus on the specific details of the project where required
  • Good leadership skills - The Project Manager must be able to lead the Project Team and reset the team if they stray from the objectives and requirements of the project.
  • Good decision maker - The Project Manager must be able to recognise when decisions need to be taken and must be confidently able to take those decisions.  The Project Manager should be able to identify who/what support is required in order to make decisions.
  • Technical Skills - The Project Manager should have well rounded technical knowledge.  The Project Manager should also be aware of his knowledge limitations and seek assistance from the wider team when required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as representative managing the project throughout the project lifecycle including design, construction & defects phase
  • Develop and agree the master programme.  Monitor and update the programme as part of the regular reporting
  • Organise, chair and record project meetings with Participants & Contractors as required.
  • Develop a risk register, chair regular risk reviews, monitor and update the risk register as required
  • Monitor information flow between Participant and Contractor to ensure programme deadlines are met.
  • Drive the agreement and development of the Authorities Construction Requirements 
  • Monitor Contractors compliance with the ACR’s and Contractors Proposals
  • Ensure the Contractor meets his Statutory obligations in terms of Planning, Building Warrant and any other special consents
  • Liaise with the Legal Manager in advance of and throughout financial close.  Provide support where necessary
  • Develop and manage the Financial Close tracker, co-ordinating all parties as required
  • Liaise with and oversee the input of the D&B (and FM) contractors in line with supply chain agreements.
  • Operate approved project processes and procedures, taking specific cognisance of the requirements of the Project Agreement.
  • Ensure the project is operated wholly in accordance with good HS&E practice generally, and specifically in accordance with the Construction Design & Management.
  • Manage the requirements of the Review Procedure
  • Secure completed/compliant Tier 3 Contractor Collateral Warranties from the Tier 1 Contractor
  • Monitor and report on progress against the contract programme
  • Manage the Completion and Handover of Projects in accordance with the requirements of the Project Agreement
