Building Surveyor

Conrad Consulting is currently recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor to join our client based in Central London. If this sounds like the position for you, please read on below.

Projects: Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Local Authority and Charities.

Role of the Building Surveyor:

Oversee the design and production of planning, tender and construction drawingsLiaise with structural engineers and other sub-consultantsDetermine project specifications, client requirements and performance standards; complete technical studies; prepare cost estimatesUndertake the Principal Designer role under the CDM RegulationsIdentify technical solutions and undertake feasibility studies to identify optimum designsMonitor the quality and accuracy of drawing productionProduce specifications and contract documentationEnsure specifications and procedures are used and followedUndertake professional services (such as dilapidations, party wall, acquisition surveys)Represent the Project and Building Consultancy department internally and to clientsLiaise with surveyors to forecast workload and resources requiredBe aware of all client design requirementsSupervise the preparation and checking of 2D/3D drawingsBe responsible for and take accurate site measurements from inception through to construction to ensure accuracy of information producedEnsure all work undertaken is produced accurately to standards in a timely and efficient manner

Requirements of the Building Surveyor:

Relevant construction related or building surveying degreeRelevant professional qualification (MRICS or similar)Full UK driving licenceAn understanding of construction processesKnowledge of construction technologyGood understanding of bills of quantities and cost controlGood project management abilitiesExperience of working on building and construction projectsAn understanding of statutory requirements (Planning and building regulations)Client facing experience to meet with clients and contractorsAn understanding of party wall mattersAn understanding of the process of dilapidationsExperience of undertaking building surveys for due diligenceProficient in using Microsoft Packages and an understanding of AutoCADAble to organise and prioritise to meet deadlines
