The challenge

There is now an exciting opportunity to join Homes & Landlord Services, Repairs and Maintenance Service, where you will work with a team of dedicated construction professionals and deliver maintenance projects and essential repairs across the City.

The new posts of Graduate Surveyor offer posts across the service offer a fantastic opportunity for graduates to experience a dynamic and modern working environment, delivering essential services for a large client-side organisation supporting a considerable proportion of Bristol’s residents.

A graduate in Construction, Surveying, Engineering or other Built Environment related discipline, you will be responsible for assisting and developing specifications for planned maintenance work, completing disrepair and condition surveys, delivering programmes of M&E improvements, and everything in between.

With roles available in key Repairs and Maintenance teams, placements will be made depending on specific experience, qualifications and areas of professional interest.

Key qualities that we are looking for:
 

  • Knowledge of the building industry especially refurbishment projects
  • Knowledge of contract administration, project management, defect diagnosis and condition surveying
  • A relevant qualification in a construction, engineering, or other Built Environment related discipline
  • A willingness to continually develop and learn, keeping track with industry and technological developments
  • A willingness to take ownership in delivering essential services

Should projects and priorities demand you may also in future be required to work within any of our other repairs or planned maintenance and improvement teams.

Due to the need to travel effectively across the city and the requirement to carry tools and equipment this post is designated a regular car user; you must hold a full valid driving licence.
