Your new role
As a surveyor work experience in fire engineering or related roles is crucial, you should demonstrate working on fire engineering projects, especially within the construction industry, this could involve fire safety design, risk assessment, evacuation planning, etc.
Understanding local and international fire safety codes and standards is essential for ensuring compliance and designing safe buildings.
Ability to analyse complex scenarios, assess risks, and design effective fire safety measures.
You will be involved in offering the following:

What you'll need to succeed
A strong understanding of fire dynamics, fire behaviour, smoke control, fire suppression systems, and fire-related technologies is essential
Effective communication skills crucial for explaining complex fire engineering concepts to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
Any of the following would be advantageous;
A degree in Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or (IFE)
Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE).
