Location: Birmingham, Bath Row, B15 1LZ

Salary: £82,120 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Role

Being a first-class landlord to our tenants through the provision of safe, secure, and well-maintained homes is at the core of what we do. Joining us as our Head of Specialist Repairs, you'll play a key role in ensuring that we continue to deliver the high-quality homes and services our valued tenants deserve.

Working collaboratively, you’ll use your experience of delivering critical repairs and maintenance programmes to ensure we deliver a sector leading professional service to our tenants, with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • The delivery of Legal Disrepair, Damp and Mold, Fire Remediation, Structural Repairs, Insurance works and Disabled Adaptations installations, ensuring that they are delivered in a timely, cost effective, customer focused and safe manner in line with budgets and legislative requirements.
  • Lead and develop the performance and capability of our internal repairs team of over 30 colleagues.
  • Effective contract management of a fleet of external subcontractors delivering a turn-key specialist works solution.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll be educated to degree level or possess the equivalent technical level of expertise demonstrated through your work experience within a building construction or maintenance environment. Importantly, you’ll have significant knowledge and understanding of the fabric of buildings which enables you to effectively deliver a specialist repairs service, managing both direct labour and a muti-discipline supply chain. You’ll have strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of leading teams to deliver on their commitments.

Who are Midland Heart? We’re one team working together for our tenants. We welcome people from every walk of life, at every stage of their career. We expect a lot from our people but in return you can be assured of a great place to work, where you will be well rewarded and where great people are able to succeed. Whether you want to build your career with us, or use your experience to move on, we’re here to develop your potential.

Our colleagues deliver services from the location that they are best delivered on any given day. This means that you should expect to work from a Midland Heart site as a minimum 3 days week (on average).

Applications close at midnight on 26th November 2023.
Suitable candidates will be invited to participate in first stage assessment scheduled for week commencing 4th December 2023, with those who pass this initial stage being invited to a final stage assessment, currently scheduled to take place week commencing 11th December 2023.
