Exciting opportunity to join a social housing provider servicing a key client within Essex. You will be working on a residential property portfolio within the borough of Southend-on-Sea and will be required to travel to properties within the area as part of the role.
Your new role
As the Building Surveyor, you will undertake surveying duties associated with the delivery of property services including responsive repairs, void properties, stock condition surveys and planned maintenance programmes. You will be required to visit properties to carry out pre-inspections and post-inspections and will be asked to investigate and respond to any complaints made by residents. As part of the role you will also organise and manage contractors regarding repair work and will work closely with the in-house insurance team to inspect and provide budget costs for any insurance works.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for this role you should have an OND/ONC in a construction or maintenance related subject and have extensive experience conducting pre- and post-inspections for repairs and capital works. This should include working knowledge of Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 in relation to disrepair claims and pre-action protocols. A driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.
