Circa 5 Brand New Roles – UK Wide – Permanent – Structured Training/Support
Great Britain's electricity infrastructure is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come.
As a result of the energy transformation we are seeing unprecedented growth in our land rights workbook and are looking to grow our new Strategic Infrastructure, Land Rights Team. We're looking for Support Officers to assist with the delivery of projects, within our Strategic Infrastructure team, promoted as Development Consent Orders and/or Compulsory Purchase Orders.
You'll be part of a high-performing team who provide expert land rights service for National Grid. This will be in accordance with current legislation and guidance, best practice and procedure, to ensure National Grid adheres to its licence obligations and ensures we secure land rights for our existing and new assets.
In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to offices and project sites as required.
As such we’d welcome applicants from anywhere in the UK with current team members being geographically spread.

• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills to ensure effective engagement with all relevant stakeholders.
• A positive, can-do attitude and be able to identify and problem solve.
• Organised, able to coordinate interlinked activities and have good attention to detail and have experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Some experience in contract management, stakeholder management and project management.
• Some experience and/or knowledge of delivering land activities for infrastructure projects.
• Awareness of (or a willingness to learn) the legal and regulatory parameters that National Grid works with.
• Awareness or (or willingness to learn) the consenting regimes and processes relevant to complex linear projects such as Planning Act, DCO, CPO and TCPA.
• Preferably degree qualified (or equivalent), or have ‘on job’ experience in land rights, contract management, stakeholder management or project management.
• Prepared to progress career through structured training programmes both via on job experiences and formal training courses.
• Commit to 16 days of formal training off site over 2 year.

What You'll Do
Your activities will be varied including:
• Managing (often competing) internal/external stakeholder and customer requirements. You’ll prioritise, manage time, and organise tasks.
• Working with External Affairs to agree and implement project messaging, comms and mail drops to all known interests in land.
• Gathering, collating and reporting on the progress of land rights deliverables such as survey access, Heads of Terms and land access requirements for construction.
• Supporting the Surveyors with the delivery of all land rights and acquisitions for our infrastructure projects from development to construction.
• Providing support with the implementation of National Grid land rights policies and procedures.
• Assisting with project reporting on programme, key milestone delivery, risk, contract and financial management on a monthly basis.
• Working closely with the supply chain, legal firms and professional bodies to keep abreast of progress and monitor KPI’s of these service providers.
• Being passionate about delivering a high quality service, with significant enthusiasm to achieve results in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
What You'll Get
Spanning staff levels 5 and 6, our starting salary range spans £37,000 – £49,000 dependent on level capability.
Dependant on an assessment of requirement and business need, a company car maybe offered

The British Energy Security Strategy set out the Government's ambition to connect up to 50GW of offshore generation to the electricity network by 2030. Facilitating this ambition will require significant reinforcements to the onshore electricity transmission network. National Grid Strategic Infrastructure will make this happen.
