  • Excellent Salary and Conditions
  • Distant islands allowance
  • A comprehensive relocation package
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Local Government Pension scheme
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • Flexible working and family friendly policies
  • A varied and interesting workload
  • A stress-free commute to work
  • An exceptional work /life balance

What we’re looking for:

  • A dynamic, strategic-thinking, and innovative individual. An assertive yet diplomatic professional, with commitment to the principles of partnership working.
  • A motivated team leader, and a team player.
  • A professional with a sound knowledge of statutory requirements for Local Authority Procurement. An individual with an eye for detail, who will ensure a consistent approach to the application of corporate standards.
  • Possession of an Honours Degree, or equivalent qualification, in a relevant discipline.

Shetland is an archipelago in north of the British Isles where you’ll find freedom, wildlife and wild beauty, but also a rich culture and a dynamic, forward-looking society. The islands have a thriving and diverse economy full of opportunities and offer residents the ideal work/ life balance. Shetland combines stunning coastal landscapes and wide open spaces with friendly, bustling island communities.

Shetland also enjoys extremely high standards of living: fantastic schools, a state of the art cinema and arts centre and unparalleled access to sporting facilities are all things Shetlanders enjoy. You’ll also find superb roads, frequent bus services, reliable inter-island ferries and frequent flights to Scottish and English cities and, increasingly, superfast broadband.

There really is no better place to live and work.
