We are excited to present an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Consultant to join a well-known and respected consultancy with offices throughout the UK. Our client, a visionary in the industry, has strategically invested in the team's growth over the past two years. Renowned for advising local building surveying teams nationwide, they provide consultancy services covering feasibility studies to full detailed design across diverse sectors in both private and public domains.

Role Overview: Joining as a Senior Mechanical Design Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the team. This role promises an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to a variety of projects, all while ensuring continuous professional development within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of mechanical design consultancy services, spanning feasibility studies, performance and full design information (RIBA Stages 1-7), project quality monitoring (M&E), witness testing, and commissioning.
  • Develop precise technical specifications and equipment schedules.
  • Actively participate in project client and design team meetings, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of mechanical systems and deliver detailed reports.
  • Leverage advanced computer-aided design and design calculation software.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other work streams within the business unit.
  • Advocate for energy efficiency and carbon reduction opportunities within projects.
  • Play a key role in optimizing the commercial and contractual performance of projects.
  • Ensure value for money is achieved in all project circumstances.

Personal Specification: We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Approaches the role with a positive and proactive attitude, demonstrating commitment to advancing the M&E design offering.
  • Holds professional qualifications in engineering/building services (HNC/Degree).
  • Brings substantial experience from within a reputable building services consultancy.
  • Is a member of a professional/industry body (CIBSE/IMT/Engineering Council).
  • Demonstrates a passion for sustainable engineering and hands-on experience with decarbonization M&E projects.


Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
