Overview:
Gairloch Estate are excited to offer a rare opportunity for a dynamic individual to take the helm as ‘land agent’ to assist the owners with the day-to-day management of an extensive highland estate.
We are seeking an experienced surveyor or an ambitious graduate eager to make an impact on our multifaceted estate. This opportunity offers a challenge and fulfilment in one of Britain’s most stunning landscapes.
About Us:
The 53,000-acre Gairloch Estate has been in the ownership of the Mackenzie's of Gairloch by Royal Charter since 1494 and is steeped in history. The current family are in full time residence and manage a motivated and committed team.
The Role:
As part of our expanding management team, the candidate will be entrusted with many responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Estate and Property Management
- Lease renewals and rent reviews
- Planning permissions for future developments
- Liasing with crofters
- Managing existing hydroelectric schemes
- Progressing future renewable energy ventures
- Develop Agri-environmental Schemes
- Progression of existing projects including a gold and copper mine.
- Expanding sporting opportunities
- Increase the estate tourism potential
- Daily staff management
Requirements:
- RICS qualification, ideal but not essential
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage, delegate and monitor performance of staff
- Adept at dealing with multiple priorities and managing time effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Packages
- Possession of a full driving license and access to personal transportation
- Shot gun and firearms certificate, ideal but not essential
- Absolute love of country pursuits and the rural way of life
