This is a new post and a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our Lighthouse and Cottage estate. Using your skills to lead a small team to set the strategy and standards required, to ensure that our estate is prepared for future challenges. We are passionate about our buildings and these unique structures some of them standing for hundreds of years have significant heritage importance as well as being an operational site. This role is more than a surveyor, it requires a passion for historic buildings, leadership experience and the ability to analyse the estate and set the future direction balancing the heritage and the operational perspectives to set the standards required for the building estate whilst also rolling up your sleeves and getting involved with the projects. If you possess this passion and experience then please apply to join our friendly dynamic team as a Senior Building Surveyor. You will play a crucial role in assessing and ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of our historic buildings. You will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and comprehensive knowledge of building regulations and standards. You will lead the building team, taking responsibility for our operational and non-operational building estate to ensure it is maintained and upgraded in a sustainable and sympathetic manner.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience in a senior building surveyor role
- Proven management experience within a civil engineering environment
- Project management experience, fully conversant in project management techniques
- Contractor management experience
- RICS Chartered Surveyor or equivalent highly desirable
Experience with historic buildings highly desirable.
