Turner Property Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with Sircle, a thriving multi-disciplinary SME, who are looking for a home based MRICS Building Surveyor to cover the Midlands for their growing pipeline of schemes – it is key to note that there will be expectations to travel the UK to sites as and when required to.

 

We have already helped Sircle setting up their Building Surveying arm of the business with 4 placements over the last 3.5 years and are excited to be placing the 5th!

 

Ideally Sircle would like a 0-3 years PQE Building Surveyor for this role but as an organisation they are open for the right candidate and they could even consider an APC Building Surveyor.

 

Remuneration will be market leading and dependent upon experience to date.

 

Purpose of the role:

  • Provide a professional advisory service, embracing all areas of Building Surveying and Project Management and taking into account of the wider Sircle service offer across the business
  • Adapt delivery methodology of Building Surveying and Project Management services

 

Key responsibilities:

  •  To deliver the full range of Building Surveying and Project Management and services carried out by Sircle, including but not limited to:

- Feasibility reports

 -Specifications / schedule of works

 -Issuing tender documents

-Running competitive tenders

 -Managing multiple projects at the same time

 -Producing contract documents

 -Review and approving interim payments

 -Managing change control

 -Providing input to cost reports and cost forecasting

 -Produce risk register

 -Attend progress meetings

 -Condition Surveys

 -Life Cycle / Planned Preventative Maintenance surveys

 -Latent Defect surveys 

  •  Directly work alongside and manage site-based staff and external consultants working on all projects  
  • Undertake various building defect and condition surveys, reporting and advising Clients on remediation strategy  
  • Ensure the health and safety of colleagues, customers and the general public on all projects  
  • Accountable for making a significant contribution to the operational and commercial performance of the Building Surveying and Project Management services offered  
  • Work collaboratively across the business to ensure we have an integrated approach to service delivery, quality and client focus  
  • To support the Associate Director of BS/PM with the operational use and delivery of Building Surveying and Project Management software and provide recommendations to feed into IT strategic plans and reviews  
  • Support members of staff with training and development  
  • To develop provide input into the development of standard documents, process and procedures as part of the ISO 9001 accreditation

Essential Experience:

  •  At least 3 years Post Qualification Experience (PQE)  
  • Excellent experience with defect analysis / building pathology and advising on remediation strategies  
  • Experience in undertaking a range of building surveys for example Life Cycle /Planned Preventative Maintenance, Schedule of Condition and Latent Defect surveys  
  • Strong track record in Project Management of projects from inception to completion with clear evidence of the leading role you had  
  • Experience of working on NHS and public sector projects  
  • Have had a leading role of PM projects up to £2m  
  • Experience of assessing risk management throughout projects 
  • Proven experience of managing site staff and external consultants
  • Developing and delivering policies and procedures  
  • Strong specification writing skills  
  • Good understanding of JCT Contracts  
  • Experience in delivering the role of Contract Administrator

  • Strong Building Surveying and Project Management skills

  • Ability to extract relevant data and provide clear and concise reports for others  
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, in a clear, articulate and persuasive manner  
  • Confidence Face to face client experience  
  • Competent in a range of IT software  
  • An eye for detail

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Building Surveying or Construction qualification at degree level.  
  • Full membership of the RICS

 

Desirable Experience:

  • Fire Safety surveys.
  • Understanding fire safety compliance and a willingness to undertake EWS1 surveys following the required RICS training  
  • Broader knowledge of statutory compliance and related legislation
  • Knowledge and passion of the use of technology to gather project data  
  • Business Development - Winning work from existing and new clients
