Turner Property Recruitment are thrilled to be working with a one of the UK's leading Real Estate Investors and Asset Managers on a unique new role to be based in Central London. 

Our client are looking to add a motivated Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to their team. 

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial efficiency and success of our client's projects. Your primary purpose is to provide accurate cost estimation, robust financial risk management, and strategic decision-making support throughout the project lifecycle. By delivering precise cost estimates and thorough financial analysis, you will enable informed planning and resource allocation, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and achieve optimal profitability.

Main Purpose
In this role, you will collaborate closely with site operations, design teams, and clients to manage financial risks and opportunities, adapting to project dynamics while maintaining financial stability. Your expertise in cost control and value engineering will be essential in optimising project costs and enhancing overall value. You will also be instrumental in fostering and maintaining strong client relationships, contributing to the growth and reputation of our client's company. By producing accurate financial reports and forecasts, you will provide essential insights that inform strategic planning and decision-making at both project and company levels. Your ability to implement effective change management and administer commercial obligations will uphold our client's  commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. Ultimately, you will drive the financial success and sustainability of our client's projects, ensuring that their operations remain efficient, profitable, and competitive.

 

Main Duties

Cost Estimates: Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation

Commercial Reporting and Forecasting: Produce accurate project financial reports and forecasts, providing essential insights for strategic planning and decision-making, as well as identifying cost-saving opportunities

Valuations: Prepare accurate and timely valuations, ensuring transparency and efficiency in financial dealings

Commercial Obligations: Administer project commercial obligations in accordance with client contracts, upholding our commitments and highest standards

Risk and Opportunity Management: Work closely with site operations and design teams to identify and mitigate risks and opportunities, enhancing project outcomes

Change Management: Implement change management control with thorough assessment of variations and change orders, analysing their cost implications adapting to project dynamics and maintaining financial stability

Cost Control: provide expert advice on cost control, value engineering, and cost management strategies, as well as ensuring timely submissions in accordance with Contract requirements to maximise profit and cash flow

Strategic Meetings: Attend project and company-related meetings, contributing to strategic discussions and planning

Client Relationship Management: Maintain and develop professional relationships with clients, fostering trust and aiding future business development

 

Skills, competences and personal qualities

A skilled negotiator with a wide network in the Real Estate, or similar, industry

Competent in Microsoft Office Packages to Advanced level

Strong relationship manager with excellent interpersonal and active listening skills

Decisive, confident and calm under pressure

A solid, resilient work ethic

Strong numeric abilities and financial skills

Excellent organisation and time-management, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

A keen desire to continually improve and provide first-class service


Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying, and 3+ years of experience in Cost Management in a consultancy environment

Experience in commercial CAT A and CAT B projects and retail projects

Knowledge of the JCT suite of Building Contracts

Knowledge of the RIBA stages of the design process from conception through to delivery

Knowledge of construction costs, budgeting and financial analysis

Knowledge of the Building Regulations and sustainability requirements

Experience in producing whole life cycle costings

Experience in producing reinstatement cost assessments (RCA’s)

 

Salary on offer is up to £75,000+ Bonus
